THE FOOTBALL GAME

Once, a bus driver was upset too much during
his routine trip. The traffic chaos was the
cause. He was murmuring, ‘Why cannot people
follow rules? By not following the rules,
they create tension in me, hence, my blood
pressure rise.’
Over-hearing his murmurs, a gentleman passenger asked him “Do you play
any game?”
He said 'Yes, I play football.'
When your opponent takes away the ball, you
do not get depressed. Instead, you get
motivated to play better than your opponent.
The gentleman
told him to treat traffic like a football
game and enjoy driving in spite of the
hurdles and adverse situation on the road.
Treat it like a game, have fun with it.
Then your work will become enjoyable.
Though the driver’s anguish was genuine,
at that particular moment, on the road, all he could do was applying the
brake and wait …!
Life is not so small as to put into compartments of good and bad, right and
wrong, ugly and beautiful. Life is so vast that it includes contradictions.
Respect differences, enjoy differences and learn to flow
with the differences; treat handling differences as a
game.

Beauty is said to be the blending of the unity

beauty is said to be the blending unity truth and goodness of a thing expressed in its completeness proportion and clarity so as to give pleasure to the senses  and to the mind.

Kalidasa, the famous Indian poet of old thought that supreme beauty can only be obtained by mental intuition.
while the beautiful causes pleasure, not everything that causes pleasure is beautiful. In order to be beautiful, an object must have fullness fineness and richness causing admiration which is beyond the power of senses."Beauty in an aggregate demands beauty in details; it cannot be constructed out of ugliness: Its law must run throughout"                                                                                      - Plotinus

The Golden Gate to Beauty

"I love all beauteous things,
I seek and adore them:
God hath no better praise.
And man in his hasty days
is honoured for them.
                                    -Robert Bridges

Once Plato was asked, "What is the best education? ' The famous philosopher replied, "It is that which gives to the body and to the soul all the beauty and all the perfection of which they are capable.'

A love for the beautiful is the finest of human qualities,.  It is beauty that sweetens, enriches and perfects human life.  Even the barbarians who devastated Greece.  Demolishing temples and destroying beautiful works of art.  were tamed by the beauty they saw on every side.

As O.S. Marden says, it is not enough to cultivate mere physical and intellectual strength.  If the aesthetic side of one's being , an appreciation of all that is beautiful in nature and art, is not fostered.  Life will be like a country without flowers or birds, sweet scents or sounds colour or music.

It may be strong, but it will lack the graces that would adorn its strength and make it attractive.

It is for man that the good God has filled land and sea with loveliness and beauty.  A thing of beauty is a joy for every man, and the one who cannot enjoy a marvellous painting , a melodious song or a beautiful sunset is not full human the most civilised man is the one whose aesthetic faculties are best developed.  The highest expression of civilisation is the aspiration and love for the beautiful.
